Mohammad Alhussan is a PhD researcher in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at University College London. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Concordia University, Canada, his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University, USA, and a Graduate Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Kuwait University. His research focuses on the cybersecurity and resilience of wearable medical devices, the Internet of Medical Things, and intra-body communication. He is also an Assistant Teacher with the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training in Kuwait and has over ten years of industrial experience in process automation and instrumentation engineering, having held senior engineering roles at EQUATE Petrochemical Company in Kuwait and MEGlobal Americas in the United States. In parallel with his academic career, he is a Co-Founder and Board Member of Gulf Automation Systems, an automation and technology company established in 2015, with operations in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. He is a Member of the IEEE, SafeNetIoT Laboratory, and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. His work has received several awards, including the Best Demo Award at EWSN 2024, the APEC 2021 Technical Best Presentation Award, research grant from KFAS and recognition from His Highness the Crown Prince of Kuwait for outstanding academic achievement while studying in the United Kingdom.
