Francesca Boem is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at University College London and an Honorary Lecturer at Imperial College London. She received the MSc degree cum laude in Management Engineering and the PhD degree in Information Engineering from the University of Trieste, Italy. She was previously a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Machine Learning Group at the University of Trieste and a Research Associate with the Control and Power Research Group at Imperial College London, where she contributed to several large-scale research projects, including the EU-funded H2020-WIDESPREAD-TEAMING project for the establishment of the EU KIOS Research and Innovation Centre of Excellence in Cyprus. Her research interests include distributed fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control for large-scale networked systems, safety and security of cyber-physical systems, control of dynamical systems, and the integration of machine learning techniques in control architectures. She was awarded an Imperial College Research Fellowship in 2018 and the EPSRC New Investigator Award in 2022. She is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a Member of the IFAC Technical Committees 1.5 and 6.4, Associate Editor for the European Journal of Control and IEEE Control Systems Letters, and an Executive Board Member for the UK EPSRC ACE Network and IFAC UKACC.
